The director chose to style this play inspired by world renowned dancer & choreographer Pina Bausch. Specifically drawing from her pieces where performers are in formal clothes and living within a nebulous modern-seeming setting

As this design felt very close to being a coordination or semi-remount of the director's past version, I worked very hard to have creative elements of my own, in order to grow as a designer. The two things that I can claim as my ideas are colored shirts & ties for the suit-wearing characters and a sheer overlay worn by The Daughter that had irregular sparkles and rhinestones to replicate a starry sky.

The Daughter is the daughter of the god Indra and the script describes her as being made of starlight, but as the story goes on her godliness starts to disappear. To show this visually, her overlay came off onstage to reveal a dress that was closer in style to the other characters.
